Livres Hebdo outlines the new season of French literary programming, with host changes on France Inter, new shows on France Culture and RTL, and the return
The 2026-2027 season of French literary broadcasting begins with several host changes, new programs, and familiar shows returning. Livres Hebdo will continue its weekly review of this media landscape every Sunday at 6 p.m. in its segment 'Dans les médias cette semaine'.
Changes at France Inter
Laurent Goumarre, the network's programming director for a year, is taking over two key slots. He succeeds Eva Bester as host of the cultural interview program 'Rien ne s’oppose à la nuit', formerly called '20e heure'. Goumarre also replaces Lilia Hassaine as presenter of the Saturday literary magazine 'Au livre etc.'.
Another program is ending. Christophe Bourseiller's literary and social commentary segment, 'Ce monde me rend fou', has been cancelled. It had aired for six years during the weekend morning show.
New Formats on France Culture and RTL
France Culture is introducing new midday programming from Monday to Thursday. Natacha Triou will host 'Les Midis de Culture'. Each Friday, Marie Sorbier will present 'Le Point culture XXL'. According to the source, these shows will focus on creative works and the people behind them.
At RTL, author Frédéric Beigbeder is joining to host a new cultural debate show. 'Tous les goûts sont permis' will air Sundays at 8 p.m. For one hour, Beigbeder and his panel will discuss news from literature, film, music, and theater. The channel's culture department will also feature a daily 'Coup de cœur' segment at 9:25 a.m. on weekdays. Meanwhile, Augustin Trapenard continues his cultural interviews on the Saturday show 'Variétés', which is moving to a new time slot from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Returning Favorites and the Season's First Guests
Several established literary programs are confirmed for the new season. On Public Sénat, Claire Chazal returns with 'Au bonheur des livres' on Fridays at 11 p.m., while Nicolas Carreau keeps his Sunday slot for 'La voix est livre' on Europe 1. The flagship book talk show 'La Grande Librairie' returns to France 5 after its summer break. For this season premiere on September 2, host Augustin Trapenard will welcome authors Amélie Nothomb, Anne Godard, Yannick Haenel, Thélyson Orélien, and the cartoonist Luz.
